Who We Are
Since 1983, the Topeka Community Foundation has worked to improve the quality of life in our region through an active partnership with donors and others who believe, as we do, that positive change occurs through effective charitable giving. Today, the Community Foundation manages almost 400 charitable funds established by individuals, families, and businesses and nonprofit organizations. Together, these funds represent ordinary people who have made extraordinary commitments to our community.
Donor Services
Becoming a part of our donor family offers an easy way for you to accomplish your charitable dreams. As our partner in giving, you receive the simplicity and tax advantages of a public charity combined with the personal recognition, involvement and flexibility of a private foundation. You also gain access to the highest level of strategic thinking on ways to meet community challenges to help make your contributions as effective as possible. And because we plan to serve this community for a long time, you can be assured that there will be a permanent source of funds available for issues you care about.
Grant Maker
More than $2 million annually is granted to nonprofit organizations through the Topeka Community Foundation, who is working hard to improve our community. Grants made through donor advised funds or the Foundationβs initiative grants are specifically directed to a different aspect of life in Topeka and Shawnee County.
Community Convener
The Foundation leverages its role as community convener on issues of importance by bringing together those who impact and who are impacted by the issue. Because we have no programs or projects of our own, we serve as a neutral convener and work to make progress on issues based on what is best for our entire community.
