Impact Topeka: Addressing the Social Determinants of Health in Shawnee County
In 2023, Shawnee County ranks 79th of 104 Kansas counties in overall health. Non-profit organizations who are interested in addressing the root causes of a community's poor health, i.e. the social determinants of health in new and innovative ways through partnerships and collaboration, that effectively change policy, environment, or systems are invited to schedule an initial interview with Topeka Community Foundation leadership.
The Women’s Fund
The Women's Fund was established with the Topeka Community Foundation in 2006 with the mission "To promote women's leadership in philanthropy, increase charitable contributions and strengthen their value through collective giving, and encourage a new generation of philanthropists."
In grantmaking, The Women's Fund is committed to supporting groundbreaking solutions to complex problems facing women and children and to being a catalyst for enduring change.

GREATER TOPEKA FUND
Greater Topeka Fund grants are available for nonprofit organizations serving Topeka and Shawnee County, Kansas. Requests are restricted to program and project expenses - general operating expenses and staff salaries will not be considered.
This grant is currently closed.
Awards will be $5,000.00 or less. Organizations may receive one Greater Topeka Fund grant each calendar year. Organizations will be notified regarding award status within a month of the date of the request. Healthy Lifestyles Grant
Healthy Lifestyles grants are multi-year awards that will provide funding for new or current programs that directly and positively change health habits, behaviors and/or lifestyles for residents in the Kansas counties of:

Building families fund
The Building Families Fund offers grant support to Kansas Christian families adopting internationally and domestically. The fund has two deadlines each year. Applicants are required to have a completed home study, and to have been matched before applying.

Stay785 - Topeka youth Commission
Stay785 provides a total of $10,000 in funding to projects led and directed by youth in the Topeka and Shawnee County Area. The goal of Stay785 is to give youth in the community an opportunity to choose what they wish to see in Topeka and bring their vision to life. This grant is completed in partnership with the Topeka Youth Commission.
Beginning each fall, individuals under the age of 21, accompanied by a local organization, may apply for up to $2,000 in funding for a project of their choice.
Awards will be determined by members of the Youth Commission based on the quality and strength of the project presented.
Applicants may request up to $2,000 in funding for a project that seeks to improve Topeka and Shawnee County, with the goal of keeping and attracting youth to the area. Examples include, but are not limited to, murals, beautification projects, local events, modernization of attractions, etc.
This grant is open until November 25
