Meet Our Board: Jennifer Sourk

As Immediate Past Chair, Jennifer Sourk serves a crucial role on the Board of Directors. She brings a wealth of professional legal and business experience as well as years of service to various organizations throughout the Topeka community. She is General Counsel for Midwest Health, Inc.

What is your “Why” for joining the board?
Topeka is more than where we live—it's the place my husband and I chose to raise our children and build our lives. With that choice comes a commitment to give back and help our community become the very best version of itself on behalf of all its citizens.

What is the role of philanthropy in our community?
Through philanthropy, communities are able to come together to solve problems, support one another, and build a foundation for long-term success. Strong schools, accessible healthcare, and robust social support networks all contribute to a healthier and more vibrant community where individuals and families can reach their full potential. Philanthropy helps make that vision possible by turning generosity into lasting impact for generations.

Tell us more about yourself:

As an avid sports fan, Topeka is a wonderful place to call home. I enjoy the opportunity to support local athletics and can often be found at a game in the community. With several Division I college programs and major league teams just a short drive away, there is always great competition to watch nearby. When I am not working, chances are you can find me at a field or a court enjoying the game.
