Seed Fund A seed fund is a donor advised fund created with the intention to grow over time. It is designed for young donors/families who are interested in leveraging their charitable giving by having a Fund at the Foundation, but need time to build their fund to meet the Foundation’s required minimum fund balance of $10,000.00.

Seed Fund

  • While these funds are designed primarily for those age 45 and younger, anyone who is young or young at heart is welcome to create a seed fund.

  • Donors establishing a “Seed Fund” have up to three years to make contributions to their fund in order to reach the minimum fund balance. No fees will be charged to the fund until the minimum fund balance is reached. At that time, a grant can be made from the fund – with the Foundation “matching” the first grant up to $1,000.00.

  • Establishing a “Seed Fund” is easy. There is a simple fund agreement and an opening contribution needed.

  • You can choose to grant the fund balance to the charity/charities of your choice or you can discuss options for growing your fund with the Foundation staff.

  • Yes. Contributions to your fund will be 100% tax deductible as allowable by law.

Establishing a Seed Fund has allowed us to be intentional about our philanthropy with the ability to share the community needs and decision making for giving with our children. The fund provides us the opportunity to make an impact on the community and organizations we love.
